Biography

Arendal Progressive Metal act TRIVIAL ACT, established in February 1992 by guitar players Bjåørn Andreassen and Håkon Salvesen, originally demoed under the band title of CEMETERY GATES, but adopted TRIVIAL ACT so as not to be confused with the plethora of Norwegian Death Metal acts. As CEMETERY GATES the band issued the 1992 'Mirror Never Lies' demo. Previous to that the band had evolved through MALTRACTOR and EMPIRE.

An early rhyrthm section comprised DIMENSION F3H and PAGAN'S MIND bassist Steinar Krokmo and drummer Stian Lindaas Kristoffersen, of FIREWIND, DIMENSION F3H, KINRICK, JORN LANDE, SHINE DION and PAGAN'S MIND repute. Erik Wroldsen, of DECADENCE and RED HARVEST, took over the drum stool in 1993. In 1995 TRIVIAL ACT donated two tracks, 'Change' and 'Crossing Bridges', to the Face Front compilation album 'A Gathering Of 8 Norwegian Progressive Metal Bands'.

Face Front also released the debut album, 1997's 'Mind Scape'. A Japanese release through Toshiba added an extra two tracks, 'Under The Sun' and 'Change'. The demo 'Thoughts In Lyrics' surfaced in 2001. Kim W. Isaksen guested on vocals for fellow Arendal act V:28 's 2005 album 'SoulSaviour'.

After a seven year break the band reunited in 2008, but due to the loss of lead singer Isaksen in November 2008 they cancelled their reunion gig at the Metal Merchants Festival in January 2009.
