A Dutch band heavily enthused by a love of eighties U.S. Thrash. CRUSTACEAN members pedigree includes both guitarists MKK and RCS (a.k.a. Richard Schouten) having enjoyed terms of employment with Paul Speckmann's MASTER. RCS was also with ACROSTICHON and DISEMBOWEL. At one stage the group would also feature guitarist Jos van den Brand of ACROSTICHON, MASTER and OUTBURST.

MKK (Michel Meeuwissen) was also a member of ACROSTICHON and fellow renaissance Thrashers OUTBURST. Vocalist / bassist TMP is an ex-MASTICATOR member whilst drummer JVI was with SPINA BIFIDA.

The group came together in 1989 as CRYSTAL LAKE, issuing a string of demos upfront of February 1994's 'Rip Off' session. At this juncture the band evolved into CRUSTACEAN. Two tracks were included on the 'No Sleep 'Til Burg' compilation album and the 1995 'Headcleaner' EP solidified their standing.

The Teutonic Existence label took CRUSTACEAN on for the debut album 'Burden Of Our Suffering'. A mini album 'Satanized' ensued before the 2001 effort 'Insaniac'. In 2002 FDA (Ferry Damen of ANTRO) took over from Schouten.

CRUSTACEAN members also operate on the club circuit as a SLAYER covers band. RCS also operates with BLACK MELODY.
