LEMUR VOICE

Biography

A Progressive Rock outfit in existence from 1993 to 2000. The group started life billed as AURA and featured former NO EXIT singer Gregoor Van Der Loo, SPEEDICA and APOGEE guitarist Marcel Coenen, ex-ARABESQUE bass player Barend Tromp and erstwhile ELYSION drummer Nathan Van De Wouw. The band's keyboard player Frank Faber had a tradition with REDLINE, APOGEE, SPEEDICA, NEVER MIND and GYPSY CAB.

Shortly after their formation AURA evolved into LEMUR VOICE and debuted with the 1996 Oscar Holleman produced 'Insights' album for the Magna Carta label. Produced by Ron Lieberton of ZINATRA the second LEMUR VOICE album, 'Divided', included an adventurous cover version of MICHAEL JACKSON's 'Beat It'.

Post LEMUR VOICE Gregoor Van Der Loo and drummer Nathan Van De Wouw united with Pop band FUSILY JERRY. Van Der Loo and Coenen would subsequently join up with Progressive Metal act SUN CAGED. The singer also busies himself, switching roles to the drums, with Pop Dance act PHONE HOME. The industrious guitarist also operates with FIFTH, a JOE SATRIANI cover band called TIME MACHINE and Heavy Metal band STORMRIDER. Barend Tromp performs with DARSHAN.

Another act with strong LEMUR VOICE connections is SLOW POKE RODRIGO, a union of Van Der Loo, Tromp and Van De Wouw in alliance with erstwhile CHEMICAL BREATH guitarist Alain Chernouh. Guitarist MARCEL COENEN issued a solo album 'Guitar Talk' in 1999. Nathan Van De Wouw guested on ARABESQUE guitarist JOOP WALTERS 2004 solo album 'Speed, Traffic And Guitar-Accidents'.
