Late 2004 found erstwhile PESTILENCE, ASPHYX and BOLT THROWER vocalist Martin Van Drunen and erstwhile PESTILENCE bassist Jeroen Paul Thesseling collaborating with KING LOCUST guitarist Niels Drieënhuizen in a new band entitled PROJEKT TABUN. The trio, announced as a flamenco Metal act, entered Studio Het Lab in Schaarsbergen to put down a set of recordings.

However, shortly afterward Van Drunen would be no longer involved due to "personal reasons". Further delays came with Thesseling's involvement in recording sessions for ENSEMBLE SALAZHAR.
