Biography

SEPTUAGINT's fantasy fuelled "Harry Potter Metal" first came to attention with an eponymous 1994 four song demo. The group originated as BIERBAUCH in the late 80s, this unit featuring singer Jochem, guitarist Pascal and drummer Rutger.

A self-titled demo was distributed in 1994. The '...My Darkest Domain' session followed in 1998 with the album 'When Good & Evil Fall In Love' delivered in 2001. SEPTUAGINT issued the 2003 demo 'Meditation Among Demons'. The band was fronted by former FLATLINE and WILD LITTLE WILLY singer Cees Beekhuyzen. Guitarist Andrew van der Schaft has a prior tradition with INEVITABLE, COJONES DEL TORO and CRYSTAL OF PARADISE whilst his six string partner Mike van Mulukom cites credits with TREASON, FATAL FANTASY and TARGET. Bassist Pepijn Heilbron and drummer Berry Loeffen are both ex-DISCIPLINE PROBLEM. Heilbron is also an active member of REVOLT whilst Loeffen held down parallel membership of SCHLECHT.

SEPTUAGINT undertook extensive touring of the Lowlands in the early part of 2004. Vocalist Cees Beekhuyzen, a founding member of the band, announced his departure from the fold in September 2005. He would be replaced by Dennis Melkert. The following year Ingmar Janssen was enlisted on drums but the band opted for a name change, first to AFTERSHOCK then DEAD MAN'S WALK.
