Biography
NEMESEA, a Gothic symphonic Metal band, was founded by Uithuizen born vocalist Manda Ophius and former RAINMAKER and RIFFBREAK guitar player Hendrik Jan de Jong in September 2002 at the conservatory in Groningen. Subsequent recruits thereafter would be second guitarist Martijn Pronk, bassist Sonny Onderwater and ex-RIFFBREAK, TRICKLIGHT and H2 drummer Chris Postma. The band debuted live as support act to AFTER FOREVER. Berto Booijink, a student of artificial intelligence and previously with THIRTY7, would be installed on keyboards in April of 2004, bringing the band up to full strength.
NEMESEA would sign to the Ebony Tears label in September of 2003 and commence recording a debut album 'Angel In The Dark' in February of the following year, recording guitars, bass and drums at Franky's Recording Kitchen with choral parts, strings, acoustic instruments and vocals were cut at Studio Spitsbergen. Gigs throughout the latter quarter of the year saw many supports to AFTER FOREVER.
NEMESEA parted ways with drummer Chris Postma in July 2005.
