Biography
TAK MATSUMOTO, having carved his reputation as chief songwriter, guitarist and producer of the Japanese rock band, B'Z, is a bona fide guitar superstar in his native land, with a huge following. The B'Z have sold over 80 million units in Japan alone, making them Japan's biggest selling band in history. In late 2003 he formulated a new band venture billed as the TAK MATSUMOTO GROUP, a collaboration featuring the NIGHT RANGER and DAMN YANKEES credited bassist JACK BLADES and ex-MR. BIG vocalist ERIC MARTIN. Drums came from the ex-FOREIGNER, SLASH'S SNAKEPIT and PRIDE & GLORY man Brian Tichy with Chris Frazier taking over for live work.
The debut TMG single, 'Oh Japan (Our Time Is Now)', arrived in March of 2004. An extensive Japanese tour was scheduled for July. The resulting concert footage would be compiled for a DVD release billed 'Dodge The Bullet' in December.
