Biography
Conceptual Progressive Metal from virtuoso keyboard player MISTHERIA. The man's first commercial outing would be as session musician on the 1994 'Frammenti' album from MIRAGE. In 1998, in collaboration with actor Sergio Meogrossi, MISTHERIA debuted with the album 'Imperator', a Rock Opera featuring singer Maria Pia di Gioia, guitarist Maurizio Scafati and drummer Fabio Colella. Further sessions included his skills being felt on the 2000 VIRACOCHA album 'The Beginning', WINTERLONG's 2001 effort 'Valley Of The Lost', the JASON BECKER tribute 'Warmth In The Wilderness' and an YNGWIE MALMSTEEN homage 'Angel Never Cry!'
In February of 2002 Mistheria announced a proposed new band project billed as INVICTUS. However, this would subsequently morph into a solo album 'Messenger Of The Gods'. That same year Mistheria joined the touring line-up of SOUTHERN CROSS. 2003 proved to be an industrious year with contributions to RICK RENSTROM's 'Until The Bitter End', WINTERLONG's 'The Second Coming' and ROB ROCK's 'Eyes Of Eternity' whilst the following year found Mistheria credits on the song 'Gypsy Eyes' on a JIMI HENDRIX tribute 'The Spirit Lives On' and NEIL ZAZA's 'Melodica'.
Released in 2004 MISTHERIA's 'Messenger Of The Gods' album boasted a staggering guest list of international Metal talent. Vocalists included ROB ROCK on the tracks 'Titans' and 'Zeus Will Storm The Earth', Max Romano, Maria Pia Di Gioia and HUBI MEISEL. Guitar parts came courtesy of ALEX MASI, Andrea Rivera, JEFF KOLLMAN, Diego Reali of DGM, GEORGE BELLAS, MARCEL COENEN, Leonardo Porcheddu, TOMMY DENANDER, Tony Hernando, Thorbjorn Englund of WINTERLONG, Ron Thal, RICK RENSTROM, Maxe Freeman and NEIL ZAZA. Bass was supplied by Barry Sparks, Emilio Di Marco, Matt Bissonette, Mario Mazzenga, Paul Shannon and Gonzo. Drums came from former YNGWIE MALMSTEEN man Michael Von Knorring, John Macaluso of ARK, YNGWIE MALMSTEEN and ARTENSION, David Folchitto of STORMLORD, SOUTHERN CROSS, BIRKENAU and CONCEPT, Fabio Colella, Anders Johansson of HAMMERFALL and Andrea Scala of MOONLIGHT COMEDY.
The keyboard maestro also made time to donate his talents to BRUCE DICKINSON's 'Tyranny Of Souls', ROB ROCK's 'Holy Hell', Polish guitarist MICHAEL GAPYS' 'The Strike' and a third WINTERLONG album. In 2006 he donated his skills to the BOOK OF REFLECTIONS November 2006 album 'Chapter II: Unfold The Future'
