Biography

MALFEITOR, forged in Rome during 2006, is a Black Metal band initially featuring bassist/vocalist M. Fabban, of VOID OF SILENCE, KALKI AVATARA, FUNERAL ORATION and ABORYM, and former KVNTVR, TUNDRA and BIASTEMA drummer Atum. Guitar player Munholy, of QUIET IN THE CAVE, joined the band in November and shortly afterwards the band debuted live, performing in Rome sharing the stage with VIDHARR, HIEMS and FORGOTTEN TOMB.

The group debuted with a July 2007 split 7" vinyl single for Portuguese imprint War Arts Productions shared with Norway's AMOK. 666 copies were distributed, all being individually hand numbered. For live work bassist Nighthorn, from HOUR OF PENANCE, donated his skills on a session basis. In August Hell-IO-Kabbalus enrolled as second guitarist.

They would follow up in September 2007 with the 'Unio Mystica Maxima' album for Scarlet Records. This set closed out with a cover version of MYSTICUM's 'Black Magic Mushrooms'. Bass player Urizen was inducted in February 2008 but opted out shortly afterwards. After completion of fresh album sessions, founder member Atum exited in June 2009.

The group released its second full-length album, 'Incubus', on 31st August 2009 via Poland's Agonia Records. The set was recorded in part at Le Serpent Rouge Studio in Rome and, according to a press release, comprised "nine disturbing hymns of unspeakable darkness and qliphotic introspection through the Left Hand Path, and a sonic post-V.I.T.R.I.O.L. sigil filled with deadly antisaturnian chtonian vibrations." That same month MALFEITOR announced the addition of drummer Goraath and bassist Narchost, both of STORMCROW and DEMON'S SHADE, to the group's ranks.
