EDGE OF TIME was formed by Italian STATE OF GRACE and REDLYNX vocalist Chris Heaven and ex-YNGWIE MALMSTEEN drummer Michael Von Knorring. The project was first unveiled as contributing their version of 'Lady Luck' to the second in a series of tribute albums to JASON BECKER. The 2002 debut album would feature guest guitar spots from Michael Harris, former YNGWIE MALMSTEEN bassist Svante Henryson and MASTERPLAN/ex-HELLOWEEN guitarist ROLAND GRAPOW.

Later press releases added a whole swathe of Hard Rock talent as guests on the debut album including two former DIO guitarists Tracy G and Rowan Robertson, LIEGE LORD guitarist PAUL NELSON, Max Arminchiardi, TOMMY DENANDER, bassist Rev Jones of the MICHAEL SCHENKER GROUP and keyboard player Mistheria. Extra vocals were to be delivered by XYZ's Terry Illous and ex-QUIET RIOT and ROUGH CUTT frontman Paul Shortino.

In 2004 Chris Heaven and Max Arminchiardi contributed to a rendition of DEEP PURPLE's 'Soldier Of Fortune' for a RITCHIE BLACKMORE tribute album for release through Finland's Lion Music label. In a further move, Heaven re-founded STATE OF GRACE in collaboration with original guitarist Luca Polich and drummer Joe Rimondi.
