DISMAL's first entry upon the Metal scene came in June of 1995, the Turin based project formulated by vocalist / guitarist Parsifal and keyboard player and drum programmer Bradac. By October of 1996 the debut demo 'Our Sad Saga' had seen issue. A second session, 'The Holy Prayer Of Shatephyn To The Mighty Blazing Ice-Sword', saw the incorporation of female vocalist Margan.

The local Pagan Moon label picked the band up for the October 1998 album 'Fiaba Lacrimevole -Like A Red Bleeding Rose In A Glacial Desert'. For the 2001 record 'Dionisiaca' DISMAL introduced Aeretica. The group introduced new singer Rossana Landi for their September 2006's 'Miele Dal Salice' issued through Dreamcell 11.
