Metal band created in 1984 by guitarist ALEX MASI and drummer Sandro Bertoldni, after adding vocalist Gable Nelesso and bassist Al Guariento, DARK LORD released a self titled EP that attracted attention mainly for Masi's electrifying guitarwork. DARK LORD's follow-up mini album, 'State Of Rock' saw new recruits vocalist Emanuel Jandee and bassist Randzo Zulian make their debut. Shortly after its release and buoyed by guitar magazines extolling the virtues of his talent, Masi quit in order to relocate to America and joining up with the (until then) all black Metal band SOUND BARRIER. This act slowly but surely evolved into Alex's own band, modestly titled MASI!

Back in Venice, DARK LORD reformed with Jandee and Bertoldni together with guitarist Paulo Mufato and bassist Alex Favaretto to release 'It's Nigh' Time' in 1988. Another later addition to the DARK LORD ranks, ex-HOT HONEY guitarist ALEX DE ROSSO, would enjoy a solo career and team up with DOKKEN in June of 2002. De Rosso issued a stream of solo albums and in 2004 also initiated the band projects PERFECT WORLD and HEADRUSH, the latter in union with LABYRINTH singer Roberto Tiranti.
