Announced in June 2006, AMASEFFER was quoted as a new "Holy" project initially fronted by VANDEN PLAS vocalist Andy Kuntz in union with Israeli musicians guitarists Yuval Kramer, Hanan Abramovitch and drummer Erez Yohanan. The latter musician had first formulated the idea in June 2004. A projected trilogy of albums would re-tell the biblical story of Exodus with the Hebrew name of Amaseffer referring to the name chosen for the Israelites in the Bible. ARCH ENEMY frontwoman Angela Gossow was also announced as contributing guest vocals.

Unfortunately Kuntz's schedule resulted in delays, necessitating AMASEFFER recruiting a new frontman. Taking on the rokle would be Mats Leven, a seasoned session campaigner with a wealth of high profile credits to his name including SWEDISH EROTICA, THERION, DOGFACE, SOUTHPAW, ABSTRAKT ALGEBRA, KRUX, YNGWIE MALMSTEEN and FATAL FORCE.

The debut June 2008 album, 'Slaves For Life' released through Inside Out Music, was the opening volume of a planned trilogy about the history of the Israeli people as portrayed in the Old Testament. Promotional videos were filmed for two tracks, 'Slaves For Life' and 'The Burning Bush', directed by Tal Engelstein, singer of Rock band 195DB.
