THE GOVERNMENT was the last incarnation of MAMA'S BOYS before drummer Tommy McManus's death from leukemia, an illness he had been struggling against all his life. The original track 'Judgement Day' was featured as the television theme music to the Nigel Benn / Chris Eubank boxing match. The single was limited to 3000 copies.

THE GOVERNMENT also appeared on the 'James Whale TV show' minus Tommy who was too ill at that point. Stand in drummer was Danny Martin.
