Kildare act BLACKWYCH formed in 1982, debuting on the compilation album 'The Green Metal Album'. At this stage the band comprised singer Ciaran Canning, guitarists Bobby Tierney and Declan Canning, bass player Niall Canning with Damian Grant on drums.

London based label Metal Masters issued the 'Out Of Control' album in 1986. BLACKWYCH had changed its membership for these sessions, withthe Canning siblings now collectively using the surname James and Chris Andralinus installed on drums. Following the album release Tierney exited and Joe Burn substituted on drums.

With the demise of BLACKWYCH, Niall Canning joined MIDNIGHT BLUE.
