Formed in 1990 by ex-STILWOOD and FASTWAY vocalist Dave King and guitarist Mandy Meyer, formerly with KROKUS, COBRA, ASHTON and ASIA. Bass player Caine Carruthers had performed live with THE UNTOUCHABLES. Despite the quality of the solitary album, and a March 1991 UK support tour to LITTLE ANGELS, KATMANDU was a relatively short-lived project.

King would later be found working with GARY MOORE. Drummer Mike Alonso later created SPEEDBALL in Detroit for three albums and is also a member of BANTAM ROOSTER.
