    Biography

The solo vehicle of ex-1ST AVENUE and ZINATRA keyboard player Robby Valentine, VALENTINE tended to offer seriously bombastic Pomp Rock. VALENTINE is also a bona fide superstar in Japan. Valentine's debut 1990 single 'Over And Over Again' scored a big hit in his homeland reaching number 5 on the Dutch charts. 'Love Takes Me Higher' gave the man a further top ten single. His band for the debut comprised guitarist Rob Winter, bass player Arthur Polini, keyboard player John Ewbank and drummer Hans Eijkennar. In 1993, the year second album 'The Magic Infinity' arrived, Ramon Rambeaux took over drums but was in turn was superseded by Juan Van Emmerloot. Valentine also introduced singer Jay Jay to his band.

The 1995 album, 'Valentine', marked a shift to the use of the simple VALENTINE project title. By 1996 an all new look to the band unit was lent by the incorporation of BARFLIES guitarist Vinnie Kay, bassist Bert Dijkema, keyboard man Giovanni Pileri. Van Emmerloot retained his position.

His 1998 album 'No Sugar Added' included a rework of ZINATRA's 'Love Never Dies' as well as 1ST AVENUE's 'Never II Late'.

Valentine collaborated with VALENSIA to create the V PROJECT during 1999. The man would guest on HELLOISE's 2001 album 'Fata Morgana'. A March 2006 VALENTINE album, 'The Most Beautiful Pain', would be released through Italian label Frontiers.
