In September 2008 AFM Records announced the signing of guitarist Alex Beyrodt's latest band project VOODOO CIRCLE. Beyrodt's prior experience included terms with SILENT FORCE, as former guitarist of SINNER and touring guitarist of PRIMAL FEAR. He would be joined by singer David Readman, of PINK CREAM 69, bassist Mat Sinner, of SINNER and PRIMAL FEAR, drummer Mel Gaynor, citing credits with SIMPLE MINDS, GARY MOORE, BRIAN MAY and SAMSON plus keyboard player Jimmy Kresic.

The self-titled album, issued on 4th December 2008 featured high profile guests in vocalist Doogie White, of CORNERSTONE, RAINBOW and YNGWIE MALMSTEEN, bass player Rudy Sarzo, of OZZY OSBOURNE, DIO and WHITESNAKE, Norifumu Shima, from CONCERTO MOON, Richard Andersson, of MAJESTIC and SPACE ODYSSEY.
