Biography

ANAEL, initially conjured up by vocalist / guitarist Seraphackh and drummer Primeumathon, first emerged out of their hometown of Wurzburg touting the 2000 demo cassette 'Into The Dark'. Following these sessions Amauroptavir was inducted as bass player. ANAEL's 2002 7" EP 'Infernal Devotion', issued by Sombre Records, included a cover version of PENTAGRAM's 'Sinister'. A futher single that year found ANAEL in a union with BURIED GOD for the split release 'Eye Of The Sleepless'. For live work the band enrolled Melechtonior on bass but his tenure would be brief. The band added Fallen Angel Of Doom on bass guitar in July of 2002. A split release, 'Heretic's Curse', with Canadians LUST was projected for later that year.

Former ANAEL bassist Mellhammer (a.k.a. 'Melechtonior'), having only joined the band in 2002, would join IMPENDING DOOM in October of that same year. ANAEL prepared a full length debut album 'Necromantic Rituals' for March of 2003. Late October of 2004 saw the band on tour in Europe, packaged with a heavyweight billing comprising MORRIGAN, ABIGAIL and Japanese outfit ABIGAIL.

ANAEL's September 2005 album 'On Wings Of Mercury' saw release through the Barbarian Wrath label. 100 copies would be pressed in vinyl picture disc format by Iron Tyrant Productions.
