Biography
EISREGEN is a Thuringian Dark Metal band formulated in 1995, initially as a solo venture of 'Blutkehle' (a.k.a. Michael Roth). Session keyboards on an April 1995 demo 'Mysterien der Nacht' were supplied by Jan-Vincent Simmen of NOX MORTIS, later replaced by 'DF' (Daniel Fröbing). In March 1996 the project released a further demo cassette, of which only 20 copies were distributed. 'Das Ende Des Weges' followed that September.
In 1997 EISREGEN included female violinist Theresa Trenks, known as 'T2', and DIEVOTION bassist K. Matthes. A 7" vinyl single was self-financed, entitled 'Fleischhaus' being restricted to 1000 copies. Further changes saw the bass position going to Berg Morbach (Sebastian Morbach) of NECROTIKISSME.
Signing to Last Episode Productions the debut album 'Zerfall' was delivered in February 2004. Second effort 'Krebskolonie' arrived in September 1998. A further change in the bass role transpired in 1999, with Der Hoelzer (Michael Brill) being enrolled. An EP, 'Fleischfestival', emerged in November 1999. Last Episode Productions released the third album 'Leichenlager' in January 2000.
EISREGEN's November 2001 offering 'Farbenfinsternis' included a cover version of DEATH's 'Born Dead'. A live VHS video, 'Lager Leipzig', also arrived that year. The Russian Irond label would combine 'Fleischfestival' and 'Krebskolonie' for a single package CD in July of 2002.
Michael Roth forged side project EISBLUT in 2004, describing the venture As "a faster, dirtier version of EISREGEN, without keyboards and violins." EISBLUT's debut album, 'Schlachtwerk' was scheduled for a 2005 release via Massacre Records. Meantime, EISREGEN's 'Hexenhaus' album dented the national German charts, debuting at no. 100. That same year Yantit and Trenks forged Death Rock act TRANSILVANIAN BEAT CLUB alongside Blutknecht on bass and Dr. Franzenstein on drums. A debut album, 'Willkommen im Club', emerged in early 2006 through Massacre Records.
EISREGEN acted as support to PUNGENT STENCH's January 2006 European dates. Trenks closed her tenure with the band that same year. Taking over for live sessions would be Birget Lages of GARDENS OF GEHENNA.
The album 'Knochenkult' hit stores in September 2008. Digipack editions were limited to 1000 copies whilst box set variants included a free T-shirt.
