Previously known as STEELAGE DREAM, the group changed titles to STEEL DAWN in April 1991. The band's first product was the demo 'Darkness Of The Night' in 1992, the band adding drummer Gerald Vogel shortly after.

STEEL DAWN's next demo recording 'Mirror Images' led to a deal with Long Island records. The resulting album was produced by JADED HEART vocalist Michael Bormann.
