Biography
A multi-cultural band from Bremen, frontman Jimmy Klimsop hails from Paribo in South America, drummer Menno Brenkman from Djakarta, Indonesia and guitarist Holger Larisch from Bremen.
SCÄM LUIZ mixed Heavy Rock with Soul and Funk and the talented Larisch caught the attention of John Wetton, who wanted the guitarist to help out ASIA on a three week stint in 1989. Prior to working with SCÄM LUIZ, Larisch had worked as a session musician (assisting in recordings by STEELER, for example).
SCÄM LUIZ's debut album, 'Heading For The Dream', the group recorded at the Wisselord studios in Hilversum, Holland and later issued a live EP before recording a second record, 'No Pain-No Gain' in 1993. Pre-production for this sophomore release was handled by Kalle Trapp in Hamburg and featured a cover of DEPECHE MODE's 'People Are People'.
Following recording Larisch decamped to create his solo project AREA 51. The position was filled by Nard Berings.
