Schleswig-Holstein Power Metal act fronted up by Sascha 'Sir Lord Doom' Maurer, an ex-member of CARPE DIEM and FORGOTTEN NORTH. Both guitarist Timo Tippmann and drummer Martin Zellmar are former members of RED/FIRE/RAIN. Bass player Oliver Zühlke was previously with acts such as BLACKTHORN, APOPLEXY, VALPURGISNIGHT, ILLNESS and PSYCHOMATIC. Besides his employment with RITUAL STEEL the four string is also an active participant in Black Metal band RUNESWORD, PHANTOM PANZER, STEINBURG and MANITOU.

The 2001 'Orchid Queen' 7" single, featuring Benjamin Beck on guitar alongside Tippmann, was limited to just 500 copies, the first 100 of which were pressed on clear vinyl. RITUAL STEEL signed to the Iron Glory label but severed ties with that company before releasing any product. The band readied their debut album 'A Hell Of A Knight' through the British Miskatonic Foundation label, owned by SOLSTICE mentor Rich Walker, in the winter of 2002. A vinyl version, pressed by Metal Supremacy, was scheduled for early 2003 set to include an additional bonus single comprising a cover version of MANILLA ROAD's 'Necropolis'.

Second guitarist Dirk Johannsen was unceremoniously ejected during October of 2002, the band claiming he had "falseness running through his veins"! Benjamin Beck took his place.

RITUAL STEEL's rhythm section would be found involved in the new trans-Atlantic band venture, ISEN TORR. Joining them for this endeavour would be SOLSTICE guitarist Rich Walker, DESTINY'S END guitarist Perry Grayson with TWISTED TOWER DIRE frontman Tony Taylor. First product would be an EP for the Metal Supremacy label 'Mighty And Superior', restricted to 666 copies. Bassist Oliver Zühkle would be superseded by Jesco Wolter of STORMBREEDER and REDAMNTION.

In 2004 the RITUAL STEEL rhythm section of bassist Oliver Zuehlke and drummer Martin "Z-Iron" Zellmer forged Z-IRON, being joined by EXILED singer John Cason and guitarist Dean Harder from Croatian band WITCHCRAFT.

Karthago Records issued the album ' Invincible Warriors' in May 2007 from a reformed RITUAL STEEL.
