BAD STEVE was formed in Solingen by ex-ACCEPT musicians Jan Komet on guitar and Fritz Friedrich on the drums, the duo engaged ex-SIN CITY vocalist Phil Magoo and former KANAAN guitarist Achu Becher to the cause alongside bassist Dieter 'Rubi' Rubach. BAD STEVE toured Germany in 1984 as support to ACCEPT. Belgian label Mausoleum Records put out the 1985 album 'Killing The Night', which, despite its pedigree and imagery, presented a far mellower musical stance than many had anticipated. After the group split, Rubach briefly reunited with ACCEPT vocalist Udo Dirkschneider in his U.D.O. band.
