Essen based trio formed in 1982. TORMENTOR, with a line-up comprising vocalist / drummer Ventor, guitarist Mille Petrozza and bassist Rob, was rooted back to the school band TYRANT. Having adopted the new monicker of KREATOR, the individualistic German outfit was to become much favoured by European Thrash fans in the mid 80s. The band set itself apart from the pack with a series of albums that defined an original strain to the standard Thrash sound. As such KREATOR soon became a major force on the European mainland and their cult appeal and reputation also reaped rewards in North America.
