Biography

A Progressive, Thrash inclined Metal band from Munich, SIEGES EVEN's first trio of albums were recorded with Marcus Steffen on guitar. However, having left the group in 1992 he was replaced by Wolfgang Zenk. The first two albums ('Life Cycle' and 'Steps') also featured the vocal work of Franz Herde, but 'Sense Of Change' witnessed the recruitment of Jogie Kaiser.

Oddly, Kaiser opted to pursue a career in musicals and left the group after recording the album, SIEGES EVEN eventually replacing him with Greg Keller. This was a man who had previously recorded with METRICAL CHARM, a quite well known band on the German underground Metal scene at the time.

Following Greg's relocation from Colgne to Munich SIEGES EVEN set to work on the new album 'Sophisticated', produced by noted Metal knob twiddler Charlie Bauerfeind (the man having also produced the two previous band efforts). During 1996 SIEGES EVEN was augmented with the arrival of Greg's brother Börk Keller on keyboards. Börk had also been a member of METRICAL CHARM.

Drummer Alex Holzwarth joined Italian Symphonic Metal act RHAPSODY. Bassist Oliver Holswarth joined BLIND GUARDIAN and toured with the DEMONS & WIZARDS project band.

The Holzwarth brothers united in 2000 with guitarist Markus Steffan to found LOOKING GLASS SELF. Initially this venture employed Jens Johansson of STRATOVARIUS on keyboards and ANGRA singer Andre Matos for a demo 'Equinox' although the Brazilian later bowed out. They would also session on the reformation album by PARADOX 'Collision Course' the same year. SIEGES EVEN reunited during late 2003, scheduling a co-headline spot at the April 2004 Headway Festival in Amstelveen, Holland. This event was to be recorded for a live album. A new studio album, 'The Art Of Navigating By The Stars' ambitiously comprising just one song split into several movements, was projected for 2004. The record, cut at Black Solaris Studio in Frankfurt with producer Uwe Lulis, was finished up in June 2005 for Inside Out Music.

In side activity, SIEGES EVEN bassist Oli Holzwarth joined COLDSEED, the Industrial Metal project of BLIND GUARDIAN and SAVAGE CIRCUS drummer Thomen Stauch, SOILWORK frontman Björn Strid and guitarists Thorsten Praest and Gonzalo Alfageme Lopez.

SIEGES EVEN's 2007 album, entitled 'Paramount', entered the national Greek album chart at no. 46. The record was released in North America on October 10th via Inside Out Music.

Touring for SIEGES EVEN included dates in Russia plus a European co-headlining tour in January 2006 alongside DEAD SOUL TRIBE. The band supported JOURNEY on German dates in June 2008. The band issued its first live album, 'Playgrounds', in July via InsideOut Music, this set containing ten songs from the 'A Sense Of Change', 'The Art Of Navigating By The Stars' and 'Paramount' albums recorded during the first leg of the band's 'Paramount' tour 2007-2008.

On 20th September 2008 SIEGES EVEN announced they were to split up "due to internal differences."
