Biography

Munich Progressive Metal band founded in 1986 by lead guitarist Wolfgang Kerinnis and rhythm guitar partner Stefan Gassner. The first DREAMSCAPE line up would be completed by vocalist Tobi Zoltan, bassist Benno Schmidtler and drummer Andreas Angerer. The group released demos in 1992 and 1993 with a third set, entitled 'Decisions', arriving in 1994 and 'Changes' the following year. DREAMSCAPE would also be featured on the 'Peace Eater vol. 5' compilation album.

Following the release of their debut album 'Trance Like State' the band pulled in keyboard player Jan Vacik. A further change came as vocalist Tobi Zoltan quit and was superseded by Hubi Meisel. DREAMSCAPE's 1999 album 'Very' includes a cover of ULTRAVOX's 'Dancing With Tears In My Eyes'. The band toured Germany in December 1998 as support to AXEL RUDI PELL.

In later years HUBI MEISEL would act as guest frontman for the Italian act MAEVE OF CONNACHT, appearing on their 2001 album 'Imaginary Tales'. The man would also issue a solo album entitled 'Cut' in January of 2002. DREAMSCAPE enrolled new singer Roland Stoll, a veteran of SOPHISTICATION, PRIVATE SECRET and DEAD MAN WALKING for the 2004 album 'End Of Silence'.

Ex-frontman Meisel also guested on the 2004 BOOK OF REFLECTIONS debut, a mainly Scandinavian "All star" symphonic, neo-classical Power Metal project assembled by former ETERNITY guitarist LARS ERIC MATTSON. DREAMSCAPE parted ways with drummer Bernhard Huber in July 2005, replacing him with 7FOR4 man Klaus Engl. That same month it was announced ex-DREAMSCAPE frontman Mike Zotter had joined STORMHAMMER.

The band would be packaged with HIDDEN IN THE FOG and VITAL REMAINS for shows in Germany during October 2005. The band drafted new drummer Michael Schwager in January 2006.
