Wolfsburg based Thrashers. Founded in October of 1997 by the erstwhile SQUARE WAVES pairing of vocalist Daniela Waletzky and drummer Olaf in alliance with guitarist Nico Lueder, previously with BRAINLESS, PSYCHOTRON and NONVOKUHILA, and ex-CRUCIFIXION bass guitarist Henrik Schwaninger. UPPERCUT debuted with the demo 'First Strike', subsequently recording their debut album 'Shroud Shifter' at WASTELAND guitarist Stephan Kern's studio in September of 2000. Jan Wiegel of BRAINBUG took over the bass position in 2001.

UPPERCUT contributed their rendition of 'Sex And Outrage' to the 2003 MOTÖRHEAD tribute album 'Motörmorphösis - A Tribute To Motörhead Part II'. G.U.C. Records issued the 'Reanimation Of Hate' album in 2004, this outing seeing Wirgel now on guitar and Ralf Winzer on bass.
