Biography
A Kaiserlautern based Progressive Metal act, founded in 1992 and fronted by Michael Tangermann, that came onto the scene bouyed by the impact of their first impressive demo, 'Timeshift'. An opening album, 'Behind' recorded at Roko Soundstudios in Frankfurt, saw release in 1995. Initially touring throughout Southern Germany, SUPERIOR scored the distinction of playing alongside BON JOVI, LITA FORD and CRAAFT at a benefit concert during 1989.

Following the debut album release, SUPERIOR toured Germany extensivly as guests of VIRGIN STEELE and ANGRA, after the original openers KAMELOT were forced to pull out. SUPERIOR's luck did not hold however, as after a handful of shows keyboard player Jan-Marco Becker broke his hand. Still, SUPERIOR have built up a sizable following in France on the strength of the 'Behind' album and, with Becker's recovery toured France allied with VANDEN PLAS in 1997 upfront of sessions for a second album 'Younique'. Tour work saw dates across Germany, France, Netherlands and Belgium. Notable concerts included a gig at the Zenith in Paris seeing SUPERIOR performing with STRATOVARIUS and ANGRA and an appearance at the 'ProgPower' festival. 1999 witnessed a headline acoustic tour of France.
Switching labels to the French NTS concern SUPERIOR commenced work on a third album, the political concept offering 'Ultima Ratio'. Recording throughout the early months of 2001 these sessions were punctuated with live shows at the 'ProgPower' events in both Holland and the USA. The album 'Ultra Live' arrived in September 2004.
