FARO is led by the Sri Lankan born AVALON vocalist Chitral Somapala. Although based in Germany FARO would represent a true international front with Chilean drummer Daniel Flores, of Progressive Metal bands TEARS OF ANGER and MIND'S EYE and Spanish guitarist Frank Rohles. The debut album, the Markus Teske produced 'Dawn Of Forever', was delivered by MTM Music in June of 2003. Chity Somapala would be drafted as a quickfire substitute to from FIREWIND's tour of Japan in January of 2004.

Flores manned the drum kit for Itaian act SECRET SPHERE's 'Heart & Anger' album in January 2005. A new FARO album, recorded in March once more with Markus Teske manning the desk, found Somapala being joined by an all new cast of JADED HEART guitarist Barish Kepic, the JADED HEART and THE SYGNET credited Michael Müller on bass and erstwhile BONFIRE drummer Dominik Huelshorst. That September Somapala announced a union with ex-FREEDOM CALL bassist Ilker Ersin in new project POWERWORLD, although his tenure with this outfit would be brief.

A new FARO album, entitled 'Angelost', emerged in January 2006 through MTM Music. Somapala re-emerged the following month with his new side project RED CIRCUIT, co-instigated by ex-SHEELA man Markus Teske, for the album 'Trance State'. In March 2006 Somapala announced the formation of a new "atmospheric, bone-crushing power metal" band called CIVILIZATION ONE. Here he would be joined by an international roster of players comprising guitarist Aldo Lanobile of SECRET SPHERE, bassist Pierre-Emmanuel Pélisson of HEAVENLY and MALADAPTIVE, the SHADRANE and LALU credited Vivian Lalu on keyboards plus Luca Cartasegna, from MORTUARY DRAPE and SECRET SPHERE on drums. Chitral Somapala joined DOMAIN in November 2006.
