Biography

Leaving the SCORPIONS in 1978 guitarist extraordinaire ULI JON ROTH produced two albums with his band ELECTRIC SUN 'Earthquake' and 'Firewind' in a much more experimental vein than the straightforward hard rock of the SCORPIONS. Critics have always lambasted Roth for his insistence on utilizing his own below par vocals on recorded works. What cannot be doubted though is the supreme mastery of the guitar.

For his touring band Roth assembled a line up comprising of vocalists Nicky Moore (SAMSON) and Roger Meakin, drummer Clive Bunker (ex JETHRO TULL), keyboardist Larry Dawson, and bassist Ilbert Stubbs. Support act for this tour was guitar protégé ROBIN GEORGE. Nicky Moore quit after the European tour and his place was taken by former RAGE vocalist Dave Lloyd for the American tour.

ULI JON ROTH undertook a solo career after the demise of ELECTRIC SUN. Bassist Ule Ritgen joined ZENO, led by Uli Jon's younger brother Jochen.
