Biography

The Summer of 2o03 found once leading German Hard Rock hopefuls THUNDERHEAD reunited, in a fashion. Guitarist Henny Wolter and bassist Ole Hempleman, along with new drummer Curt 'Donner' Doernberg, forged DONNERKOPF, a German transalation of "Thunderhead". The Hannover based THUNDERHEAD had issued a string of highly commendable albums, very nearly breaking out onto the international scene, but ultimately folding in the mid nineties.

Post THUNDERHEAD, Hempleman had embroiled himself in the world of Punk Rock, performing with bands such as CUNT, WURSTBRUCH and AMOC as well as engaging with the melodic Rock outfit DREAMTIDE. Henry Wolter, a veteran of VIVA, enjoyed further high profile activity with both SINNER and PRIMAL FEAR, but relinquished his position with both bands to forge DONNERKOPF. Doernberg is known for his role as member of AMOC and frontman with TRIEBHAUS. DONNERKOPF, employing German language vocals, debuted with the 'Krachmaschine' album through Pig House Music.
