Formed by ex-MAD MAX vocalist Michael Voss and former WARLOCK drummer Michael Eurich, CASANOVA toured Germany with American Rockers WARRANT in 1991 after issuing a self-titled debut album earlier in the year. In 1992 CASANOVA, complete with fresh bassist Jochen Mayer, unveiled the band's second album, 'One Night Stand', which featured the song 'The Doctor Is In' co-written with ACCEPT guitarist WOLF HOFFMANN.

1993's acoustic EP 'Some Like It Different' was produced by the ACCEPT duo of Hoffman and Stefan Kaufmann. By 1995 CASANOVA, now boosting their sound with the enrollment of keyboard player Axel Urban, parted ways with both their long term management company and WEA Records.

Voss would also contribute bass guitar to U.D.O.'s rendition of 'Metal Gods' for the 1996 JUDAS PRIEST tribute album 'Legends Of Metal'. Jochen Mayer would join melodic Rock veterans DOMAIN for band's 2004 album 'Last Days Of Utopia'. In 2004 Voss marked a return of sorts with 20TH CENTURY BOYS, a pact with another highly respected German Hard Rock singer MICHAEL BORMANN of JADED HEART, THE SYGNET, BISS and BONFIRE. The resulting 2004 album 'Beware Of The Rex' comprised entirely T REX cover versions. CASANOVA marked a return in 2004, signing to the UK based Escape Music label for the album 'All Beauty Must Die'. High profile gigs for the band included a German support to DOKKEN in April and an appearance at the SOUL SIRKUS headlined 'Firefest' in Bradford, UK during May. During 2005 Michael Voss sessioned on erstwhile LYNCH MOB singer Oni Logan's solo album billed 'Stranger In A Foreign Land'. The singer also guested on two tracks, 'Footprints In The Sand' and 'Eight Feet Below', included on Swiss outfit BEGGAR'S BRIDE's debut October 2006 album 'Boulevard Of Broken Hearts'.
