Vocalist John Lawton is ex-LUCIFER'S FRIEND and URIAH HEEP. For the second album ZAR drafted in Thommy Bloch to replace Lawton.

1991's 'Sorted Out' opus sees Lawton losing his place to newcomer Thommy Bloch. Lawton was to rejoin LUCIFER'S FRIEND for their comeback 'Sumogrip' album before touring Europe fronting URIAH HEEP once again.

ZAR underwent further changes for their next effort 'From Welcome.. To Goodbye' as a fresh rhythm section of bassist Wolf Urban and drummer Marcel Asch were installed.

1995's 'The Holy Rhythm Of Nature' was produced by Ralph Quick, most noted for his work with Rap Rockers H-BLOCKX. Bloch created Heavy Metal act TAROT'S MYST for the 1999 'Odyssey' album.
