Heidelberg / Mosbach, Baden-Württemberg Dark Metal band PENETRALIA, formed during 1994, made their first showing with the 1996 'Schwarz' demo, followed up by a 1998 demo 'Tribute To The Moon'. Signing to Last Episode Records, PENETRALIA released the album 'Carpe Noctem - Legends Of Fullmoon Empires' in 1999.

Second album 'Seelenkrank', recorded at Kick Traxx Studios, arrived in March 2000. At this juncture the band was credited as vocalist / bassist Lepra (a.k.a. Felix Gramling), vocalist / guitarist Dr. Oste (Daniel Droste), rhythm guitar player E.B. Hector (Christian Hector), C.yborg D.rumm M.achine (Christoph Merzinsky) credited with drums and De Sade with electronics.

Drummer Chris Merzinsky, also with INTO DARKNESS, found a higher profile with MIDNATTSOL. 2005 also saw Chris Merzinsky forming up R.I.P. ("Raw Intense Power"), primarily established by guitarist Björn Daigger of MAJESTY, IRONY, ANGUISH, RESPAWN INC. and INTO DARKNESS repute working with RESPAWN INC. man Fabian Pospiech on vocals and ex-ANGUISH sibling Sven Daigger on keyboards.
