Biography

LAUTREC was a Bristol based Hard Rock band. The Street Tunes label released a 7" single, 'Gasoline Town', in 1980. Interestingly the B side song 'Someone To Kill' is a mistake, the track actually being called 'Shoot Out The Lights'. LAUTREC featured singer Reuben Archer, his stepson guitarist Laurence Archer, bassist Simon Ridler, keyboard player Steve Holbrook with John Philips on drums.

Post LAUTREC the Archers forged STAMPEDE, issuing two albums. LAURENCE ARCHER would gain a higher profile with terms of duty in WILD HORSES, MAGNUM, TARZEN, Phil Lynott's GRAND SLAM and UFO, featuring on the 'High Stakes And Dangerous Men' album. He also issued a solo album in Japan, entitled 'L.A.', and pursued activities with solo bands L.A. SECRETS and RHODE ISLAND RED. Erstwhile LAUTREC drummer John Philips joined WEAPON and MEGATON.

Four LAUTREC tracks featured on the 2006 CD re-issue of STAMPEDE's 'Hurricane Town'.

LAUTREC keyboard player Steve Holbrook found his way into another high profile stream of entertainment, becoming a well known clairvoyant.
