YOUR SHAPELESS BEAUTY

Members

Biography

A classically inspired Gothic Doom / Death outfit, YOUR SHAPELESS BEAUTY took shape in October of 1994. The founding line up would comprise lead vocalist Nicolas Blachier, guitarist David Cammal, bass player Cédric N., keyboard player Jean-Marc Abate and drummer Lionel R. The following year witnessed some experimentation within the line up, the group adding female vocals courtesy of Sandrine B., additional guitar by Sylvain O. and subsequently by Sébastien R. A major difference of opinion that July found Blachier and Cammal opting to pursue a Doom stance opposed to the other members who all defected.

This revised version of YOUR SHAPELESS BEAUTY saw Blachier and Cammal joined by Abate making a return on keyboards, the recruitment of Révérend Michel for bass guitar and the temporary employment of a drum machine. Following a set of rehearsal recordings the group introduced second guitarist Michel Canavaggia. As the year closed more demos would be cut but a blow came early in 1996 with the departure of Cammel. Undaunted, YOUR SHAPELESS BEAUTY engaged in live work, culminating with the CD format re-issue of their debut demo by Adipocére Records, this release being restricted to 1500 copies. The band would also bolster its sound with the incorporation of drummer Jean-Marc N.

During January of 1997 the band cut two tracks for issue as a limited edition single 'Songe En Dehors...' through Edge Circle Productions. Their debut album, 'Sycamore Grove', would be recorded in just 11 days in 1998, seeing release in March of 1999, after which Jérôme Lavail assumed the drum position. A second effort, 'Terrorisme Spirituel', arrived in 2001.
