Biography

SEIGNEUR VOLAND, taking their title from a medieval French colloquillism for 'Satan', was purportedley conceived by one Xaphan, former vocalist with FUNERAL and KRISTALLNACHT in 1996 whilst serving a jail sentence for "grave desecration and violation of a cadaver". Upon his release Xaphan united with guitarist L.F. of KRISTALLNACHT to found SEIGNEUR VOLAND. During 1999, employing a session bassist and drum machine, the band issued a split demo tape 'Ceremonie Chaotique Pour Un Monde Mourant - Act I' in allegience with fellow French Black Metal act CHEMIN DE HAINE restricted to 300 copies. In November of 1999 INFECT man Rimmon took on drum responsibilities. The band was completed wit the addition of Rost of HAYRAS repute on bass some five months later.

A split album was projected in league with KRISTALLNACHT and BLESSED IN SIN but this was suspended. However, 2002 would see a continuation of the prior collaboration with CHEMIN DE HAINE with the issue of a split EP 'Ceremonie Chaotique Pour Un Monde Mourant - Act II'. The Aura Mystique label issued the 2003 'Final Stand' compilation as a swan song outing, this collection limited to 500 copies. In 2004 the WarSpirit concern finally issued the 'Gathered Under The Banner Of Concilium' split shared with KRISTALLNACHT and BLESSED IN SIN. SEIGNEUR VOLAND announced they were to perform their final gig on 17th April 2004 in Bladel, Holland sharing a billing with Dutch bands INFINITY, SATANIC BLOOD and FUNERAL WINDS. L.F. would prioritise his solo concept DESOLATION TRIUMPHALIS.
