Biography

Antibes Black-Thrash Metal trio that recorded their first demo in November 1986, AGRESSOR released a couple more demos and played dates with APOCALYPSE and LIVING DEATH. The band signed to Swedish label Black Mark Production for the 1987 album, subtly titled 'Satan's Sodomy', graced with an album cover showing the immediate after effects of buggery with the devil!

The line-up at this juncture was as a trio of vocalist / guitarist Alex Colin-Tocquaine, bassist J.M. Libeer and drummer Jean Luc Falsini. This incarnation recorded the first two demos 'Merciless Onslaught' and 1987's 'Satan's Sodomy'. Things swiftly changed for the group when AGRESSOR added new drummer Thierry and ex-HELLRAISER bassist Laurent in 1988. The group then signed to Noise, recording 'Neverending Destiny', after which both new men split leaving Alex Colin-Tocquaine to soldier on alone. Thierry joined LOUDBLAST.

Undaunted, Alex put together a brand new line-up of his band, thus the 1992 version of AGRESSOR, which recorded the 'Towards Beyond' album, consisted of Colin-Tocquaine, ex-OUTBURST guitarist Patrick Gibelin, ex-OUTBURST bassist Joel Guigon and ex-DEATH POWER drummer Stéphane Guegan.

Gibelin had quit by the time AGRESSOR returned to the studio to cut the ensuing 'Symposium Of Rebirth' album, his place being taken by new guitarist Manu Ragot. The TERRORISER cover track 'After World Obliteration', incidentally, features a guest vocal performance from NAPALM DEATH's Barney Greenaway. AGRESSOR toured as guests to CRADLE OF FILTH on their British tour of June 1996.

The band returned to the studio for the 'Medieval Rites' album. Employing a vast array of traditional instrumentation the multi-faceted release would see both Krell and Christina from Norwegians BLOODTHORN guesting. Also donating their services would be former MERCYFUL FATE drummer Morten Neilsen, ROTTEN SOUND and ENOCHIAN CRESCENT drummer Kai Hahto and the journeyman Death Metal guitarist JAMES MURPHY.

November of 1999 found AGRESSOR on the road in Europe on a package billing in collusion with BLOODTHORN and Finns AND OCEANS. The line up for these shows would see Colin-Tocquaine and Guigo joined by WITCHES guitarist Bernard Queral and Kai Hahto on drums.

Colin-Tocquaine would also session for touring purposes with American occult ancestoral Metal act ABSU and renew the relationship with BLOODTHORN by sessioning on their 2000 album 'Under The Reign Of Terror'. As if this activity was not enough, the guitarist would also announce that he had joined another veteran French Metal combo LOUDBLAST. Meantime, Guigou had re-activated his former outfit OUTBURST.

The January 2001 incarnation of AGRESSOR cited a roster of Colin-Tocquaine, guitarist Adramelech, bassist Joel Guigou and drummer Gorgor. Both Adramelech and Gorgor were previously with Black Metal band BELEF. Gorgor also drummed for Grindcore band IMPERIAL SODOMY. Season Of Mist issued an album 'The Spirit Of Evil' during March 2002 comprising rarities plus three live tracks.

Season Of Mist issued the 'Deaththreat' album in November 2006.
