Doom act created with the use of internet technology during the Autumn of 1997. Guitarist Stéphane Peudupin, based in France, and multi-instrumentalist Niclas Frohagen, living in Sweden, assembled their first demo 'The Dark Path' by constructing music files over the world wide web. Frohagen has a track record with acts such as SHUBEND, FOREST OF SHADOWS, DOLEFUL SHADE and GENESIS OF PAIN.

Further NINGIZZIA tracks pieced together in the Spring of 1999 saw the addition of vocalist Jenny Frohagen, violinist Micce Andersson and Sandra Sundelin on flute. Upon an offer from Dragonflight Records NINGIZZIA submitted a brand new composition 'Beneath The Silent Moon' for inclusion on a compilation album.

Anna Ekbladh assumed flute duties in 2001 as the band compiled archive material with new tracks for a projected album release billed 'Dolorous Novella'. They would also be requested to donate a track to a MAYHEM tribute collection through Christcrusher Productions, NINGIZZIA duly delivering their take on 'Freezing Moon'. Stéphane Peudupin joined LETHIAN DREAMS in the bass role during 2004.
