Biography

Nancy, Lorraine based Death Metal act created in the opening weeks of 1994. SCARVE's original summer 1994 demo cassette found the band citing a line up of lead vocalist Fred Bartolomucci, ex-METAL DEATH guitarist Patrick Martin, bass player David Fioraso with Dirk Verbeuren on the drums, the latter a veteran of S.P.I.T., MELTDOWN, Black Metal band ANAON and SHRED. The band's second recording arrived in August of 1996 as the six track Bruno Donini produced and self financed EP ' Six Tears Of Sorrow'. By this juncture Sylvain Coudret had been added as second guitarist.

During 1998 SCARVE supplanted Bartolomucci with two lead singers Guillaume Bideau and Alain Germonville. The 'Translucence' album, issued by the Furtive Metal concern in February of 2000 as a limited edition digipack, closed out with a rendition of LED ZEPPELIN's 'Friends'. Previously fan club members had been treated to an exclusive two track demo CD as a taster entitled 'Opacity'. Bassist Julien Thibers had featured on 'Opacity' but for the album recording proper Philippe Elter came onboard. The album would be granted a Europe wide re-release in April courtesy of War Music. Later that year a four track fanclub only EP emerged, comprising one studio track and three live tracks. Loïc Colin took the four string role in September of 2001 and Pierrick Valence of BURNING CLOUD entered the fold as second vocalist that October.

SCARVE's March 2002 Daniel Bergstrand produced album 'Luminiferous' contained a cover version of ENTOMBED's 'Serpent Speech'. The record would be subsequently picked up for US licence by Wortd War III Records in October. Live promotion in Europe, dubbed the 'Machinary' tour, had SCARVE allied with road mates NO RETURN, DEW SCENTED and RAIN in April. Further European touring in October found SCARVE on a mighty package billing alongside NILE, SINISTER, NO RETURN and MYRKSKOG.

SCARVE's Guillaume Bideau provided both vocals and percussion for his side project THE CUBE's debut 2003 album 'Stand Up Direction Body'. Meantime Dirk Verbeuren maintained a hectic schedule laying down session drums for MORTUARY's 'Agony In Red', LYZANXIA's 'Mindcrimes', ABORTED's 'Goremageddon' as well as for EOSTENEM. In 2003 the man was sessioning for Israeli band ETERNAL GRAY.

SCARVE side projects abounded in 2003 with singer Pierrick Valence, guitarist Sylvain Coudret and drummer Dirk Verbeuren teaming up with their sound engineer Alan Leeroy, guitarist for ANAON, for a Celtic Metal endeavour entitled STENVAL. The same SCARVE trio, alongside NO RETURN and GARWALL bassist Olivia founded PHAZM.

SCARVE's third album 'Irradiant' was recorded at Dug-Out Studio in Uppsala, Sweden with producers Daniel Bergstrand and erstwhile MISERY LOVES CO. guitarist Ȫrjan Ȫrnkloo. Guesting would be DEFLESHED vocalist/bassist Gustaf Jorde whilst MESHUGGAH guitarist FREDRIK THORDENDAL features a guest guitar solo on the track 'Asphyxiate'. The band filmed a live promotional video for the track 'Mirthless Perspectives'.

Now with some international repute behind him Dirk Verbeuren teamed up as stand in for acclaimed Swedish act SOILWORK for their February 2004 European tour dates. Verbeuren then stepped in as substitute drummer for Belgian gore-mongers ABORTED's live dates and then sessioned on INFINITED HATE's 'Heaven Termination' album. The drummer enrolled into the ranks of YYRKOON for dates in January 2005. SCARVE re-grouped to act as support to MESHUGGAH's June European tour. The band featured the exclusive live track 'Fireproven' on the 2005 Listenable Records French Metal compilation 'Revolution Calling'.

Dirk Verbeuren sessioned for Swiss band SYBREED in 2006. That May SCARVE utilised Dug-Out Studios in Uppsala, Sweden to cut a new album with producer Daniel Bergstrand. However, mid session, singer Guillaume Bideau opted out in order to join Danish band MNEMIC. SCARVE persevered, drafting the services of Swedish vocalist Lawrence Mackrory, of DARKANE, THE MIST OF AVALON, ANDROMEDA, SEETHINGS and F.K.Ü. repute, on a session basis for new album 'The Undercurrent'.

In August 2008 Sylvain Coudret also joined SOILWORK for touring.
