Nancy, Lorraine Deathcore act PHAZM, created during 2003 by erstwhile SCARVE guitarists Pierhryck (a.k.a. Pierrick Valence), also of AGRESSOR repute, and Pathryck (Patrick Martin). The group debuted with a three track demo. These sessions saw drums handled by Dyrhk, (Dirk Verbeuren), also of SCARVE. Bassist Olivia Scemama, previously a member of NO RETURN, was replaced by Mahx. Scemama also gained credits with Black Metal band BALROG and in December 2005 joined Belgian Death Metal act ABORTED.

PHAZM signed to Osmose Productions for the 2004 album 'Hate At First Seed'. These tracks had been cut in Denmark the previous December with producer Jacob Hansen. Included would be a cover version of MOTÖRHEAD's 'Dogs'. European shows for January 2005 found PHAZM in union with YYRKOON and IMPALED NAZARENE. PHAZM then underwent a membership change as Verbeuren's priorities with SCARVE and SOILWORK forced him out of the picture. Cédryhk of SOLEKAHN acted as replacement.

In September 2006 PHAZM launched second album 'Antebellum Death 'n' Roll', recorded at Midnight Studios again through Osmose Productions. Initial copies came with an extra DVD disc of live material recorded in Nancy. PHAZM united with Poland's DECAPITATED for a planned extensive European bout of touring throughout February 2007. However, with ten dates still to go the bands pulled out of the tour after being stranded at the French / Spanish border with no funds.

A membership change saw the introduction of drummer Gorgor, a veteran of AGRESSOR, IMPERIAL SODOMY, ADDICTED, DEVILIUM and BELËF.

PHAZM's 'Cornerstone Of The Macabre' album, recorded in February 2008 at Sainte-Marthe Studio with producer Francis Caste and hosting a cover version of METALLICA's 'Damage Inc.', was scheduled for September release through Osmose Productions.
