Uncompromising, raw Black Metal act from the Le Tignet in the South of France. BELEF was created in 1996 by guitarists Adramelech and Brahamator. By 1998 Gorgor had been enrolled on drums and Morrdrëd became vocalist / bassist. With live work under their belt BELEF cut the demo 'The Fifth Season', produced by Alex Colin-Tocquaine of AGRESSOR fame. Upon completion of recording Konickthork was drafted as bassist in order to allow Morrdrëd to concentrate on his role as frontman. Criminal Records took the band on for the 'Deathwind Legion' release.

Upon the band's demise BELEF members guitarist Adramelech and drummer Gorgor would join the veteran Black Thrash act AGRESSOR during 2000. BELEF personnel, going by the guises of vocalist Mordred (a.k.a. Morrdrëd), guitarist Mordrir and drummer Orifist (Romain Goulon), also operate Grindcore act IMPERIAL SODOMY. Goulon also has DISHARMONY and KAOTEON affiliations and in early 2005 joined Progressive Metal band KRYSALYD.
