Biography

LALU is a Prog-Rock conceptual outing from French composer Vivien Lalu of TIME FOR A CHANGE, SAD WARDEN, SHADRANE, CHRIS CATENA and MIND'S ORCHARD repute, initiated during the Autumn of 2003. The debut 2004 work 'Oniric Metal', would be the product of a creative union with ex-ANNIHILATOR man Russell Bergquist on bass, the Dutch ARABESQUE, SHADRANE and ELYSION credited guitarist JOOP WALTERS, DEVIN TOWNSEND drummer Ryan Van Poederooyen and BROKEN GLASS and TOMORROW'S EVE vocalist Martin LeMar. Lalu would also feature as session musician on HUBI MEISEL's 2004 album 'Em Ocean' and 2005 offering, 'Kailash'.

'Oniric Metal' would see release through the Finnish Lion Music label in March of 2005. A second LALU album, 'Temporal', was scheduled for early 2006. Two album tracks featured Virgil Donati of PLANET X and SOUL SIRKUS on drums and Gary Wehrkamp from SHADOW GALLERY as a guest guitar soloist.

In March 2006 Lalu was announced as a member of the "atmospheric, bone-crushing power metal" band called CIVILIZATION ONE, this band comprising an international roster of players in Sri Lankan born vocalist Chity Somapala, a veteran of AVALON, FARO, MOONLIGHT AGONY, RED CIRCUIT and FIREWIND, guitarist Aldo Lanobile of SECRET SPHERE, bassist Pierre-Emmanuel Pélisson of HEAVENLY and MALADAPTIVE plus Luca Cartasegna, from MORTUARY DRAPE and SECRET SPHERE on drums.
