Although established in Paris BLACK DEMENTIA would relocate to Århus, Denmark. The band had debuted in 1998 with the demo 'Sortiarius, Of Heathendom Born... '. This demo would be completely re-recorded, adding the extra track 'Hail Satan', for re-release the following year. A third session, 'Carmina Diabolica', followed in 2000 and 'Proxima Thule' emerging in 2001. BLACK DEMENTIA's commercial debut, the EP 'Hyperborean Call', was released via Aura Mystique in 2004.

BLACK DEMENTIA's 2004 line-up comprised SKAR vocalist / guitarist Aries, GRIFFAR and TAAKE man Drakhain on guitar, SKAR and PROFANE member Necrose on bass with AZALON and SPECTRAL MORTUARY drummer Morten Siersbæk.
