HEOL TELWYN ("Dark Sun"), located in Blanc Mesnil in the Britanny region, is a Celtic flavoured, ancestral Black Metal act fronted by Gwadsec'hedik Kraban of NYDVIND, INBORN SUFFERING and BRAN BARR and also featuring his BRAN BARR colleague Hades on flute. Bassist Mylgaon Vibuc'h is a member of Funeral Doom band FUNERALIUM and Dark Metal combo OND AAND. Guitarist Ossian is employed with BLACKGOD and HELL S.D. Drummer Yskithyrwynn is also active with FUNERALIUM.

HEOL TELWYN was manifested in July of 1999 by vocalist Yskithyrwynn, Gwadsec'hedik Kraban and guitarist Anaon, originally pursuing a straight ahead Black / Death direction. Ossian was incorporated on bass guitar in late 2000. The following year the group adopted the Pagan / Celtic influences and switched roles with Yskithyrwynn taking on drums and Gwadsec'hedik Kraban becoming lead vocalist. Later that year Nehmain was inaugurated as flute player but before 2001 had closed both this latest candidate and Anaon had departed, necessitating Ossian switching to guitar.

The self financed EP 'Mor Braz', recorded at Hybreed Studios, saw issue in 2003. HEOL TELWEN signed to the Greek Burning Star Records in April of 2004.
