Biography

French Thrashers LYZANXIA came together in Anjou during 1996, assembled by ex-OVERLOAD guitarist David Potvin. LYZANXIA debuted with the four song demo 'Rip My Skin' before issuing the self financed 1998 album 'Lullabye'. LYZANXIA at this juncture saw Potvin, on lead vocals and guitar, joined by colleagues rhythm guitarist Franck Potvin, bassist Eguil Voisin with Gweltaz Kerjan on drums. Japanese editions of 'Eden' added a bonus song 'Cured'. The group signed to Wargram Music for the second outing 'Eden', produced by producers Fredrik Nordström and Don Romano 666 at Backstage studios. Guest musicians included backing vocalist Guillaume Bideau, secondary vocalist Audrey Forest on tracks 'Lost' and 'Terrible Old Man' plus keyboard player Bastid Rysmo.

The band cut their third album, 'Mindcrimes', again with producers Fredrik Nordström and Don Romano 666. Regular drummer Gweltaz Kerjan injured his arm prior to recording necessitating Dirk Verbeuren of SCARVE taking over on a session basis. The Japanese variant of 'Mindcrimes', released by the King label, added two exclusive tracks 'COG' and 'Endless Sphere'. LYZANXIA signed to the US Reality Entertainment label to issue 'Mincrimes' in North America for March 2004. The band headed up a four week, September US nationwide 'Harsh Reality' tour in union with FREAKHOUSE and Swiss act SYBREED.

LYZANXIA parted ways with Gael Ferret in April 2005, drafting new drummer Clement Decrock. The group utilised Studio Fredman in Gothenburg, Sweden in January 2006 with producer Fredrik Nordström to craft a third album entitled 'Unsu'. Guitarist Jona Weinhofen and Ed Butcher, from Australian act I KILLED THE PROM QUEEN, recorded guest appearances on the track 'Path Blade'.

In May 2006 LYZANXIA signed with Listenable Records for their third album, 'Unsu', for September release. These tracks were recorded and mixed at Studio Fredman in Gothenburg, Sweden by Fredrik Nordström and Patrick J. Sten with mastering completed by Peter In De Betou at Tailor Maid Studio. That May LYZANXIA supported SOILWORK on a UK tour. LYZANXIA were added to the European tour featuring CRUMBSUCKERS and THE ACCUSED beginning in early February 2007. However, these shows never eventuated.

In late December 2008 the band re-recorded four tracks, 'Trepan', 'My Prisoner', 'Hurricane' and 'Slave Cross', from their debut demo 'Lullaby'.
