Amiens Death Metal band ASHURA signed to Thundering Records in May 2005. The group includes vocalist / guitarist David Masson, a familiar face on the local extreme Metal scene by warrant of ties to acts such as ABLAZED WITH ANGER, ONIRIC ANTHROPOPHAGIA and BURGÜL TORKHAIN. Second guitarist Geoffroy Lebon is associated with WERGELD whilst bassist Aurélien holds EPONA credentials. The debut album, 'Dawn To Your Wasting Away' issued in October 2005, included a cover version of DEATH's 'Crystal Mountain'.

ASHURA supported NOMINON and VITAL REMAINS throughout Europe in September 2005.
