APATHY

Biography

APATHY was a Valkeakoski based Heavy Metal outfit dating to 1995 and created by vocalist / guitarist Valtteri Sahala and drummer Iivari Järvensivu. In 1997 guitarist Lasse Heikkilä and bassist Antti Aro joined the band, at that juncture titled APATHY. Heikkilä was replaced by Toni Salminen during 1998. Still as APATHY, the group included two tracks on the local compilation album 'Sulfiittirock III'.

The demo 'Hear It' was recorded at Sound Sound Studio and released in November 1999 as the group evolved into EXAPATHY. Second demo 'Genuine' was recorded in December 2000. With Järvensivu undertaking his compulsary national military service throught 2001 the remaining band members performed live billed as ANTIAPATHY.

Three EXAPATHY members, Sahala, bassist Antti Aro and Järvensivu, founded a parallel act billed TRITONUS in February 2003. Guitarist Toni Salminen would also be active as a member of FARMAKON whilst both Sahala and Järvensivu could also be found on the covers circuit in a METALLICA covers band.
