Vaasa Death Metal combo CARTILAGE debuted in 1991 with the tape 'In Godly Flesh' before releasing a split album 'The Fragile Concept Of Affection' with Sweden's ALTAR through Drowned Productions in 1992. The erstwhile CARTILAGE collective of guitarist Mikko Hannuksela, bassist Harri Huhtalla and drummer Kai Hahto would found VOMITUTITION. Hahto later added ROTTEN SOUND and ENOCHIAN CRESCENT to his list of credits, going by the pseudonym of Caer Hallam Generis in the latter act. Meantime guitarist Karri Suoraniemi (re-billed as W.G. Victor) and singer Mikki Salo founded WINGS, issuing the EP 'Thorns On Thy Oaken Throne'. Suoraniemi too would later re-emerge in ENOCHIAN CRESCENT whilst Salo busied himself with his own label Woodcut Records.
